Description

The Phantom II is a modified Sheathipede-class transport shuttle belonging to crew of the Ghost of the Rebel Alliance.  It replaced the team’s VCX-series auxiliary starfighter Phantom for the Ghost.  The Phantom II was acquired by the Spectres, crew of the Ghost, during a mission on the planet Agamar where they encountered Separatist holdouts from the ending of the Clone Wars.  During the mission they were ambushed by the Droid Commander Kalani and forced to engage in a live wargame with the remaining droid army under his command.  However, during the wargame an Imperial Strike Force attacked ending it and resulting the Spectres and the Separatist Holdouts teaming up to repeal them.  After the conflict the crew of the Ghost kept a spare Sheathipede Shuttle of the Separatist Holdouts, modified it to their own needs and repainted it.  The Phantom II went on to be crucial
to the success of the Rebel Alliance Cell’s missions on numerous occasions.

The Sheathipede-class transport shuttle was a short range transport used to ferry passangers across a planet’s surface, between an orbiting starship and worlds below.  The Sheathipede was also used by the Trade Federation and the Confederacy of Independent Systems.  Utilizing them for transport between battleships and to the surface of conquered planets below them.  The Sheathipede is a product of Haor Chall Engineering, the insectoid engineering species that like to design their engineering feats around living beings and worshiped machines.  Thus the transport shuttle had a curved hull and pincer-like landing gear and its shape roughly resembled the Neimodian Soldier Beetle in appearance, and had the capacity of having a droid brain to pilot it instead of a crew.
